I used to be the BIGGEST korra hater until I gained media literacy. Korra is unlike any avatar we've seen before. She sets up the perfect balance of yin and yang, she battles her own pride while trying to protect those shes cared about. Korra didn't grow up in a war, she had room to make mistakes and learn from them, way more room than Aang ever got. Not to mention how advanced her world has become. Aang was a simple character, I love him so much but Korra embodies the teenage spirt more than Aang could have. If katara was the avatar instead, she would've taken a similar path as korra. also my theory: she never ended humanity on her own, she's possessed. she merged the spirt worlds, theres no more barrier to keep evil spirts away from the powers of the avatar.
