President John Evans Atta Mills was born on 21st July 1944. Had he been with us today, he would have celebrated his 82nd birthday. His untimely passing at the age of 68 made him the first sitting President of Ghana to die while in office—a moment that brought the entire nation to a standstill in grief and reflection. He was widely admired for his humility, honesty, peaceful nature, and unwavering commitment to democratic governance. He led Ghana with compassion and integrity, always placing the welfare of the people above personal interests. His famous words, "I am a man of peace," were not merely a slogan but a true reflection of the life he lived.
