I couldnt agree with you more, but I think the last part of what you said isn’t quiet correct. Yes, mitsuha was heartbroken, but at that point she didnt know they were living in a different timelines. It was taki who later explained to her that they existed three years apart during the kataware doki. Before that, she only knew that something strange was happening between them, not that there was a time difference.
