This is why I say Madison cops are hamstrung. In Madison, general policing is about optics and rarely about confrontational police work. That is why the police force is rarely able to handle situations well when they get out of control. Maybe, if we held the citizenry to a higher standard, we wouldn’t be faced with some of the issues we have. The weak policing almost encourages the bad behaviors of our citizens that are bent on disrupting society. Even with all this said, I’m still of the position that the officer that fired the shots used poor judgment and acted irrationally in the moment.

As someone who lives in Wisconsin, I hate our chief of Police. He doesn’t do crap. He let people walk all over all Police and I think he should be fired or he should resign.
