👑🇬🇭 Nana Akumfi Ameyaw III – Omanhene of Takyiman and Leader of the Bonokyempem Council Nana Akumfi Ameyaw III was the Paramount Chief (Omanhene) of the Takyiman Traditional Area, and a highly influential figure in 20th-century Bono history. He is widely recognized for his leadership role within the Bonokyempem Council (Confederacy of Bono chiefs), which played a key part in strengthening unity among Bono states during the colonial and early post-colonial period. 1944 – 1961 Under his leadership: ▪️ The Bonokyempem Council became a stronger traditional political body representing Bono chiefs ▪️ He helped promote unity and coordination among Bono traditional states ▪️ His leadership period contributed to the political consciousness that later supported administrative restructuring in the region ▪️ He played a symbolic role in the historical identity of what later became the Brong-Ahafo Region (1959) under the new Ghanaian state structure Nana Akumfi Ameyaw III is remembered as a key traditional leader who helped shape Bono political and cultural identity during a period of major change in Ghana’s history.
