I had a mammogram at 47, no family history, it found a tiny cancerous lump, aggressive carcinoma. had I not have that mammogram and waited to find that lump, I probably wouldn't be here. I had so many different tests leading up to surgery, chemo and radiation to check my bone density, to check my heart with no family history would that mammogram have been covered? would all those extra tests have been covered?

I am seeing more private clinics opening in Calgary daily. I’m in medical sales and a year ago. There may have been three or four now there’s well over a dozen, and they’re growing quickly. And they are charging Alberta healthcare for some services.

Didn’t Marlena go on a tangent about people not participating in preventative measures costing the system because their negligence put strain on the system? I think she mostly cited lifestyle stuff to body shame and make it seem like a whole bunch of slobs were sucking up tax dollars or something heinous like that, but I recall her going on about the cost difference of stages of cancer and how responsible Albertans would have theirs detected earlier and cost the system less. I guess this is another Danny flip flop? She just reaches into her bag of “my base will jump on this hate mongering lazy shaming talking point” sound bites and goes for it at every turn, doesn’t she.
