sharing some things we thought about to include in our renovation that just make total sense. I guess sometimes you have to be practical and incorporate details that will always make life easier but they really do take some time to think about before starting. There was so much more I wish I had done but these have been helpful. Sockets hidden under the island - No ugly sockets on show, but they are right where I need them! Dimmers for lighting - Because the perfect lighting makes all the difference. Hidden study - Looks like a bookshelf but it's the perfect place to get something done in peace. Less open plan (to hide mess) - Real life = real mess! Keeping things separate is sometimes just a life saver especially when you have unexpected visitors! Controlling exterior lighting from the bedroom - No more running around to turn on lights when you hear something at night. Tiles in the entrance hall - Durable, easy to clean and perfect for high-traffic areas. Scrubbable paint - Walls that can handle real life, just wipe and it's good as new! Mirrors behind shelves - Adds depth, creates an illusion of more space, is light & adds a high-end feel effortlessly. Soft-close everything (including toilet seats!) - No more slamming cupboards or lids, smooth and silent all the way! What clever ways have you made life easier for yourself at home? Have a lovely evening. Love always D . . . . . . #neutraldecor #interiordesign #homedecor #ukhome #renovation (Paint colours, interiors, interior design, renovation, bathroom, tips, house, home, decor, reno, transformation, UK, UK home)
