Pretty sure this is why women don’t realize they are actually having a heart attack. Having had a heart attack - it hurt, but I’ve felt worse with PMS and ovarian cysts

Which may be why so many women are killed by undiagnosed or untreated cardiac issues. Because we experience pain regularly and just go on with life because we have been force to.

Not true at all. I had zero pain during a heart attack. Cramps were DEBILITATING.

ive had both. ive had very bad cramps in my lifetime and a heart attack. my heart attack was so painful its take the breath away. cramps are like chronic sharp pain that ebbs and flows.

I’m certain they I have such a high pain tolerance bc I’ve had such severe PMS since 17. I had a liver bleed that went on for days and the pain was bad enough to make me drop to my knees but I’m so used to pushing through pain. It wasn’t until I saw the dark stool that I was like “oh I’m bleeding internally”. For context I had a liver biopsy a week prior.

And this is why women ignore their heart attacks, working while in pain feels normal to us. I did daycare while suffering an abscess on my spine that ATE TWO VERTEBRAS. No biggie, I just sat on an icepack whenever I sat down. It wasn’t till the abscess caused paralysis that I thought, oh this might be a big deal after all.

My period pain as a teenager would make me vomit for three days. I missed school for three days monthly. I got on birth control to control the pain and it barely helped. My mom equivilated my pain to late labor. Only because we had to take the same pain meds to manage my cramps.

in my AED class I learned that it's like over 80% of women tend to go into a cardiac arrest and not make it out because they don't recognize heart attack symptoms because we're so used to all the pains that we deal with.

Two weeks ago went to my doctor, I'm now on week 4 of the most painful and heaviest period I've ever had. She told me it is what it is and to take ibuprofen.

well i havent had a cycle in awhile. but I have had chest pains I compared to period cramps. as in. yeah my chest hurts right now. but its just cramps. like a period im sure its nothing ill just finish the dishes and then lay down
