Wow that’s so funny, I and my family were doing the exact same thing at the exact same time, I was also born in 78…Cheers meant something. Now, Nick is such a familiar character on New Girl. I went to my room and cried that night in 93’ when Cheers closed its doors for good 🥲

I agree with all of this, and it’s weird that more don’t still talk enough about the show and how great it was. Even through multiple cast changes, they were great for every single season.

My favourite bit from Cheers was one episode where there's a big party at the bar and they lift Norm up on their shoulders and carry him around the bar. But if you look close you can see that he clearly didn't expect them to actually carry him because he mouths "What the fuck?!" as they lift him up.

💯 Me too. Beers & Cheers night as an adult is next level. Had the opportunity to interview George Wendt a few years ago and it was epic. Best show on the planet. Got me through so many times over the past 30+ years and STILL to this day
