It’s not the pedicure itself but the foot massage they do with it. I work at a spa and some of the same techniques the mt’s use nail techs use. It triggers labor due to the nerves and stuff like that in your foot.

I’ve always felt weird going into nail salons pregnant. I’ve always gotten weird looks, but I’ll be darned if my nails ain’t done when I go to have that baby 😂

It’s the massage - there are certain areas on feet and ankle that are said to induce. As long as they rub gently you’re fine
