You can easily do pain control with a patient on buprenorphine. The problem is there aren’t very many doctors even surgeons that are not educated and how to do this. We’ve had tons of our patients go through surgery. We handle their pain control as well as their buprenorphine and it has been very successful. I’m so sorry you had to go through surgery and still be in pain. It’s very scary especially with someone battling addiction. It’s also very sad that society has become this and they’re such a stigma around, not only addiction, but buprenorphine itself.
