@bloombeyonddiagnosis: I think this is why chronic illness fatigue is so hard to explain. People see you standing. They see you answering emails. They see you making dinner. They see the things you managed to do. They don’t see what those things cost. They don’t see that brushing your teeth felt like a workout. That taking a shower meant you needed to lie down afterward. That making dinner might be the only thing you accomplish all day. They see what got done. They don’t see what it took to do it. And because of that, people assume you’re functioning. When really… You’re surviving on whatever your body has left.
It’s not a motivation issue. It’s an “I can’t physically do it” issue. Able bodied people are starting to piss me off I’m sorry.

And stand without making it obvious that you’re dizzy, ear while ignoring that you’re feeling sick, get into a shower and raise your arms over your head to was your hair without passing out, be present in your friends and families lives.

Why am I like this :
I know this is at least very close to accurate because when I have to go to work everyone keeps trying to find reasons for why I seem so tired even though I’m doing my best to mask it and they reach for things like: oh you’re overworked? Travelling too much? out all night partying and hungover? (They cannot relate to the feeling under normal circumstances)

In my case you also can’t have caffine or gluten along with the fatigue, can’t go outside without sunglasses on, can’t look at flashing lights, and have to be supervised in water cause you will have a seizure. Along with being supervised fatigued and nothing to help with it cause anything with energy has caffine which jsut gives you seizures

this, or run a marathon and then start your day, basically push your body past your capability and then carry on 😭😭

For anyone who feels overwhelmed by life and doesn't really know where that feeling is coming from, Clara Hartley's anxiety quiz might be worth trying. It could help you notice patterns that are easy to miss on your own.

Just got the result of my sleep study. I get less than an hour of restful sleep for every eight hours I’m out. According to traditional science, I should be dead.

I like to use the comparison : it’s like you had to run a marathon unprepared with a cold and then for the next week being questioned why you aren’t performing at your best possible pace because “you look fine”

Laying in bed crying because you’re exhausted and just want to sleep, knowing that not getting any sleep will just make this worse. But you can’t sleep because of the pain/discomfort
