No sir. You misunderstand and you’re misleading others. John is simply saying to confess your sins, and Christ is faithful to forgive you and cleanse you. Rather than denying your sins and staying in them. Romans 7 is referring to an Israelite under the law, prior to salvation.

Biblically salvation is an offer from God through Jesus by The Holy Spirit to mankind (His creation). This statement requires Belief in God Faith in Christ and Trust in the Holy Spirit. So what must we DO to receive salvation? In the Old Testament you can find the answers in Psalms 51:17 My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise. In the New Testament Paul stated "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship." — Romans 12:1 When Jesus was asked; "What is The Greatest Commandment?" His response was recorded in Matthew 12: 29-31 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. ’31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. ’There is no commandment greater than these.” Biblically salvation is a restoration of the relationship between God and Man. Man must come to God without pride, but with a humble and contrite heart that has the desire to love and serve the Lord by putting God first in all that you do! Thus you do the will of God by sacrificing your will for His. How to do the will of God. Belief + faith + Trust in Jesus + confession + repentance + forgiving others = The forgiveness of our Sins. Then you will receive from God His Gift of Salvation. Ask and you shall receive and God will deliver you from Death to Life. God delivers Justice Christ delivers Mercy Holy Spirit delivers Grace A.W. Tozer defined salvation as the restoration of a right relation between man and his Creator, a bringing back to normal of the Creator-creature relation. Therefore salvation requires us to pursue & maintain a relationship with God. We must put God first; Above all needs wants & desires. Your identity is tied to your priorities. Your priorities become your identity. This may sound like a chicken in the egg scenario but the interdependency begins with choice (freewill).
