There is something different with The Secret History compared to other books. Like books can be alike even if they don’t share the same plot and genre and it’s mostly because most books have somewhat the same way of writing, pace and just basic base in general. I feel like The Secret History doesn’t follow that basic structure? Also the fact we read from the perspective of someone who isn’t really that important is such a different approach. No one really does that. I don’t know how to explain this but it was such a weird experience and it’s the best book I have ever read

I loved the secret history, but the goldfinch changed my life. donna tartt is unmatched in trapping you in the very nervous system of the most neurotic characters ever, never had fun spiralling with someone like I did with theo decker ❤️

If you want to feel something you should listen to the audio book narrated by Donna Tratt. Her Bostonian accent really adds to the story.
