In Germany we have this kids game called “who is scared of the black man” where one kid is the “black man” and the other have to run away to not get catched by him. I always found this game really weird since my dad is a darker shade of brown (in my kids head it counted as black) and I always thought “why would I be scared of him”

youre crazy, I've just googled it and it says the syllables are nonsense but can be derived from ancient counting systems like cornish which was "eena, mena, mona, mite" and used for counting sheep. there were other variations in america which were made racist but the rhyme itself is centuries old and spread across dozens of countries
