A 63-year-old patient presented with severe weight loss, loss of appetite, dehydration, chronic dry cough, and progressive weakness over more than a month. The patient was becoming increasingly weak and unable to eat properly. TEMS Mobile Medical Services was called to assist and performed an urgent clinical assessment. Due to the concerning constitutional symptoms and high suspicion for Tuberculosis (TB), a chest X-ray was arranged immediately on the same day to rule out pulmonary TB. The chest X-ray returned showing extensive lung changes highly suspicious for active Tuberculosis, including cavitary disease and bilateral upper lung involvement. An urgent referral was immediately made to PMGH TB Clinic for further investigations and commencement of TB treatment. This case is a strong reminder: ⚠️ Persistent cough ⚠️ Significant weight loss ⚠️ Loss of appetite ⚠️ Night sweats or weakness ⚠️ Enlarged lymph nodes …should NEVER be ignored.
