A big reason it shouldn’t be made into a movie is that it would blow the story up way bigger than it ever needed to be. The book already exists for the people who want that kind of dark content. A movie would turn it into a public spectacle and drag in people who were never part of that audience. It would also almost definitely get marketed as edgy, hot, and taboo, which is exactly the problem. That kind of promo can make abuse look like “forbidden romance” instead of abuse. And once it’s a movie, the fandom gets bigger, the edits get worse, and people start clipping the most disturbing scenes like they’re cute fan service. On top of that, it gives the story way more cultural weight than it deserves. Not every extreme book needs a movie deal just because it got attention online. Some stories should stay where they started, because turning them into a mainstream product just makes the whole thing more harmful, more misleading, and way harder to defend.
