HOW?! I get asked all the time how I lost over 200lbs. So, I’m going to share the 3 biggest things that helped me get to where I am today: 1️⃣ I shifted my mindset—This was the most important part. I stopped chasing fast results and started focusing on building healthy, sustainable habits. I let go of all or nothing thinking and gave myself permission to be imperfect and keep showing up anyway. I didn’t rely on motivation, I depended on consistency. I accepted that this was a lifestyle change, not a temporary diet. I focused on gaining health over losing weight. 2️⃣ I started tracking my calories—To lose weight, you have to be in a calorie deficit which means you’re eating fewer calories than you’re burning. Tracking helped me stay aware and in control. I also started eating mostly whole and minimally processed foods because I wanted to feel better, not just look different. (And yes, you can still enjoy treats! It’s about balance.) If you’re curious about your own calorie needs, search for a “BMR calculator” on Google to get a good starting point! 3️⃣ I moved my body intentionally every day—Not every day was a full workout but I made sure I moved in a way that served me. In the beginning, I started with just walking. Then I added things like hiking, pickleball, swimming, and eventually strength training. I found forms of movement I enjoyed (and some I didn’t love but knew were good for me 🙈). I had a steps goal which helped me keep moving throughout the day. ✨ Start small. You don’t have to change everything at once. Build one habit at a time and choose things you can incorporate into your lifestyle with long term. Sustainable changes will take you so much further than fast, extreme ones ever will. 👉🏼 If you want more details on how this change was possible for me, from exactly how I tracked my food, to mindset shifts, to healthy habit ideas, meals, workouts and more, I put it all into my guide! This guide is practical, encouraging and easy to follow. If you’ve been wanting to start your journey but don’t know how, this guide is for YOU!
