I do not understand the argument of the parents are just as guilty. The parents did not commit the act of murder. The parents did not kill their daughter. They might’ve neglected her. They might have not done everything they could’ve done it should’ve done, but that does not make them as guilty as him. He is still the monster here.

The parents tried everything. They reported her missing, they tried to stop her. Took away phones, took away privileges, slept in her room in order to prevent her from leaving. I’m not saying that her parents were good parents or not, I’m just saying that if a teen is rebelling, it is very hard to have control over them.
