@mauiguide: Leilani Farm Sanctuary is a peaceful rescue sanctuary in Haʻikū, set on nearly eight lush acres of tropical land. It was founded by Laurelee Blanchard, who left a successful commercial real estate career, moved to Maui in 1999, and dedicated her life to animal rescue and humane education. Today, the sanctuary is home to nearly 300 rescued animals, including goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits, ducks, geese, deer, cats, sheep, turkeys, guinea pigs, and tortoises. Many were abused, neglected, orphaned, or saved from slaughter. Guided tours introduce visitors to the animals and their stories, making Leilani Farm Sanctuary both a healing place and one of Maui’s most meaningful family-friendly experiences.
