Literally, I’m 18, married, graduated at 16, bought my own house at 16, and I have a child. We didn’t get married because of my child—my child isn’t his. But regardless, by the time you’re legally an adult, you should be developing the basic life skills to support yourself and work toward the life you want. You won’t always have people to do everything for you. Your mom isn’t going to cook your meals, grocery shop, clean your house, pay your bills, or cover your college expenses when you’re 20. Like she said, nobody is saying you have to get married or have kids at 18. The point is to know what you want, work toward it, and be able to take care of yourself instead of spending all your time clubbing just because you’re “young and free.” Using youth as an excuse to avoid responsibility isn’t a mindset I’d encourage. And I didn’t know there was such a thing as “becoming an adult too fast.” Once you’re legally an adult, it’s time to start taking responsibility for your own life. sorry this is so long😭
