shouldn't have been doing anything for him in the first place. Let his father take care of his needs. That's her fault. 🤨

Honestly I would’ve done the same. She didn’t have to do the lunches and the tutors and whatnot. His mother was in the picture the stepmother was going above and beyond. She has the right not to do the lunches and it should not become something she’s required to do

I think this is a bit dramatic,,, being a grown woman and stopping all because a kid says something ? it took me six years to get used to my (step) mom 😭

there're so many problems in this story and also in this comments. It's like y'all are fighting about who's the Ahole for what they feel, but no one really is fault for that here.
The kid is still a kid, doesn't know how to use his words and clearly no one ever sat down with him and helped him process the change.
The woman is the right to feel hurt for the humiliation, because i would feel humiliated to stepping up, thinking that I'm doing so much to just get a generic title.
The dad is in the wrong to saying that, not thinking about what the wife and kid would feel about the news coming out and how it would interfere with their relationship.
Ofc I'm not saying that the woman is in the right to just "let" the kid go, punishing him instead of helping him understand why you feel hurt.
This would be the right time for the father to step up and mediate, to be the mature one.
I hope this situation can be fixed.

He told the truth, technically, and you took it out on the kid and punished him. Understanding is all about that.

I understand the boy, bc know the feeling, I hate when my dad bring his new girlfriend to my school to pick me up, bc my classmates ask who she is and I have no answer, it's just uncomfortable but the boy is wrong saying it it's mean
