This is a very emotional and sensitive situation. There isn’t a single “right” answer, because everyone involved has valid feelings.
Here’s the advice I would give:
First, the children should remember that after their father died, their mother was only 30 years old and had two young children to raise. The man who came into her life did not replace their father, but he stood by their mother, helped raise them, supported the family, and contributed to building their home and business. Those years of support should not be forgotten.
At the same time, the mother should listen to her children’s concerns and try to understand why they feel this way. They may be struggling with loyalty to their late father, fear of losing family traditions, or other emotions they have never expressed.
However, the children are now adults, and while they can share their opinions respectfully, they should not control their mother’s personal life. Their mother also deserves happiness, companionship, and respect. She sacrificed many years raising them, and she has the right to choose who she spends her life with.
The best solution is for everyone to have an honest, calm family discussion. The children should explain their concerns respectfully, and the mother should explain how much the man has meant to her and the family. If the man has treated everyone with love and respect, ending the relationship simply because the children object may not be fair.
