The stagecraft is worth the ticket price. The Broadway production is truly impressive to see. The plot is definitely trash. Like all trash, there might be a few things in there that are still good, but that plot is almost entirely garbage. Time travel is a tricky beast, unless you have done significant research in quantum mechanics or theoretical physics, it's best no to attempt to write about it.

There's a fan theory that The Cursed Child isn't a true account of what happened, but rather a fictional book that exists within the Wizarding World, just like The Tales of Beedle the Bard or Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. According to the theory, it was written by Rita Skeeter. That would explain all the contradictions with the original books. Rita was always a sensationalist journalist who exaggerated, twisted facts, and even made things up to sell more copies. That's why Harry acts so differently, Cedric becomes a Death Eater, the Time-Turners work in a completely different way, and the whole story is full of over-the-top dramatic twists.
