I suspect the story might not be entierly accurate, but it is a real problem, it upsets me to think that just my presence makes anyone feel scared or uncomfortable. It comes down to the 'not all men' thing, they don't know you or your intentions but bad shit happens often enough that they have to assume that all men are a problem. The only way out of it is to help deal with the problematic men until there's no reason for women to be scared anymore.

I understand why u feel bad about it, but you should understand that women feel like that almost everywhere, as a woman i can tell you that even going out for a short walk outside can be scary for us, this is exhausting. and btw and what did you do that made them feel like that? we don't just say it about any random person...
