I hate how managers think that they can treat you however they want because they’re in an authority position and can get away with it. Whatever happened to basic human empathy and understanding? They’re usually twice your age too

unless it is a frequent issue w tardiness you def shouldn't get a write up but did you call while u were on the bus or did u just pop in late with 0 notice and say "sorry"😭 bc the issue might've been the no notice based on how you're telling the story😭

I automatically think about that case where the McDonald’s employee girl killed her manager not saying she deserved it but they need to watch how they treat people you never know how crazy someone is they think a couple more dollars pay is enough to act like a monarch you literally work at the same place your employee works relax

When I worked stocking shelves (early morning at 4 or 5 before the store opened at 10) in retail, we all had to arrive at least 10-15 minutes early cuz the opening manager would arrive around 5-10 minutes early, unlock the doors, let everyone in, lock the doors, then be wandering the store doing stuff and no one would be near the doors or answering the phone for hours, so if you got there after that, you were locked out and just had to bang on the door hoping someone walked by and heard you. You'd get written up for being late if that happened, and they made a BIG deal of it. Also, when the manager came to let us in, we would all rush from the front door to the back of the store to clock in on time cuz that was also a big deal even though it wasn't within our control. One time the general manager had to cover for the stocking shift manager, and he pulled into the parking lot right at 5 when we were already supposed to be clocked in and would be gotten in BIG trouble with him for not clocking in on time if it was the other manager with us. I asked him about it and he was like, "Oh, I'm not late, I got here on time. It's 5." And I hated him and hated the job and didn't care if he fired me, so I "talked back," and said, "Well we won't be clocked in by 5, and you'd write us up for that if it was [other manager] here today instead of you." All he said was, "I'll fix your time cards to say you clocked in at 5." 🙄

Sometimes i wonder do these managers ever think “oh there’s a chance that It’s possible for me to be late.” Or to the fact that you can leave as early as you want, an act of God can occur anytime, or in your instance —-this. Won’t be surprised if we gotta start leaving 9 hours before work. Like do Yall expect us to predict sh* happening. I live in ATL, no matter what happens even if you leave early, on time —if a car accident occurs and blocks traffic. Do you think leaving early made a difference? No. You’re STILL GONNA be late. That’s what infuriating about these time keeper managers. Be glad people have great work ethic & stop whining over 5- 10min…
