I was OBSESSED with him my entire life. From What's Eating Gilbert Grape? to The Secret Window, my love for him ran depp (pun intended). HOWEVER, I have been in the MH, DV, SA, Psychiatry, therapy field for almost 20yrs... that asshat is guilty, he deserves nothing. im glad to see people calling out johnny depp but can we please stop the “amber heard was an abuser too” talking point please i beg of you to understand reciprocal abuse is not a thing… reacting and responding to abuse in the ways amber heard did is a defensive response to extreme duress. an abuser makes an active choice to be abusive, a victim of abuse has had their agency stripped of them and is behaving in manners they otherwise would not if they were not being routinely violated and abused

Amber Heard is not an abuser. The term you were looking for is reactive abuse. It happens when the abuser pushes a victim to a breakdown and the victim finally fights back. That's not abuse, that's the reaction to abuse.
