After being rear ended by a distracted driver, I’ve spent months recovering from post concussion syndrome, spinal injuries, and countless doctor’s appointments, therapies, and setbacks. Some days I feel hopeful. Other days, just getting through the day feels like a victory. Through all of it, my husband has carried so much. He’s worked long hours to keep our family afloat while taking care of me, helping with our four year old daughter, keeping up with the house, and somehow still reminding me that better days are ahead. He’s been my rock, even when I know he’s exhausted. Then there’s our little girl. At four years old, she deserves adventures, spontaneous trips, and a mom who can always say “yes.” Instead, she’s had to hear, “Mommy doesn’t feel good today,” more times than any child should. She has been incredibly patient, but I know she’s missed out on so much simply because I haven’t had many good days. If I could give my family one thing right now, it wouldn’t be something for me. It would be a chance to surprise my husband with a getaway where he doesn’t have to carry the weight of everything for a little while. A trip where our daughter gets to laugh, swim, explore, and just be a carefree four year old. A place where we can make memories that aren’t centered around hospitals, recovery, or pain. That’s why Hilton has been on my heart. A stay isn’t just a hotel room to us. It’s a chance to reconnect as a family, to rest, to heal, and to remember that life can still be beautiful even after it’s been turned upside down. Whether Hilton ever sees this or not, I hope one day I can give my husband and daughter the trip they deserve.
