We both work full-time at good paying jobs, have no credit card debt (we don't use credit cards, only debit cards) we drive older cars, so no car payments, we live in a house that we can afford on 1 income, and we prioritize planning and saving. We live within our means and don't go into debt to buy things. We do not come from generational wealth. I actually come from a poor single- parent family. My husband and I both have MBA degrees so we understand finance, interest rates, etc, so it was important for us to make sacrifices while paying off our student loans. We paid for our own wedding and have always paid for everything on our own. It's always been important to us to budget, save, live within our means, and not spend more as we earn more. If we can't afford it, we don't buy it, or we wait and save up for it. When want to take a trip, we sit down, come up with a cost estimate, and spend months planning and saving to pay for it. We stick to our budget while we are on our trip.

Honestly, most people have massive debt. They scale with their salary. Even though they make a lot of money they carry large loans. People made fun of my wife and I because we saved and lived within our means for the first 10 years of our marriage. Now, we literally do whatever we want, have amazing life insurance policies and started our kid's 401k to secure the next generation.

I have learned that having a nice house and/or car is not always indicative of your income or wealth. So many people live beyond their means.

I’ll tell you , stop eating out , stop buying processed foods . Stop buying status symbols . Brown bag a lunch , make your coffee at home . Cook your dinners from scratch . Stop buying apps . You don’t need a new car with full coverage .

It’s called “parental welfare”.. most of the ones who can’t admit that are maga republicans.. they will lie to you and say they do it all on their own.

its simple, live below your means and save save save. buy a mobile home instead of a 400k house. spend smart and stay out of debt until your financially stable. stay away from credit cards, have one card and pay it off monthly.

There are people out there using credit cards and taking out home equity loans to go on vacation. Then the first income hiccup and they lose it all

Buying a house was savings now we have a mortgage monthly just like your rent payment and vacations we usually pay plane with cc points we do visit a lot of national parks which aren’t expensive so it’s basically the airbnb expense and food we take along also we have a double income but I’m also wondering how other ppl do it cause we’re making a nice amount of money and I still can’t splurge

It's typically generational wealth. a lot of people I grew up with had their parents paying for their vacations, their houses. When they got married, when they had kids even in whatever their kids are doing, they'd pay for. some people have inheritances from their grandparents.Passing away. basically, there's a lot of people that get a leg up that you wouldn't know about. And then you have like those hardworking people that did it all their own. That's like a lot rarer obviously
