The mom didn’t take him to the hospital because she was afraid cps would take her kids not that she would go to jail. She didn’t do anything to cause her to go to jail but a child getting burned is definitely going to trigger a home visit and she probably thought not having hot water would be a problem. She should have taken the baby anyway but it’s a common fear with families who are struggling. It didn’t appear to be an abuse situation the house wasn’t nasty, kids weren’t either and the kids seemed to want their mom.

my daughter got 2nd and 3rd degree burns from chicken grease when she was 3. nobody went to jail bc it eas an accident and bc we took her to the hospital IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS. 👀 Plus our whole family was at the hospital when Investigators came to our room to show we had support.

Accident or not, she let him sit there for days with those burns, and that is why she was arrested. She didn’t care he was hurt only cared if she was gonna get in trouble or not
