I experienced this for over 3 and a half years. It led to a diagnosis of non epileptic seizures.

I’m so embarrassed to admit how little I accepted. In 6 years, he only said “nice blazer” as a compliment despite me asking him if he could just say “thank you, a kind word or a hug.” When I asked him why he wasn’t able to do that he would say “I don’t know,” “it’s not that I’m withholding, I just don’t see anything good to say something about,” and “I tried saying something nice one time and you asked me why I didn’t say it sooner.” Every time, the reason changed. There was also no hugs, affection, physical, touch of any kind for the past 3 years despite any time I tried to bring it up he would rage, make himself a victim, and when I’d cry - he would scream at me to stop crying. I see it all clearly now but a few years ago I had no idea what I was living in. Worse - I was in therapy. We had 5 therapists and none of them pieced it all together. Finally - the police did.

He’d say “ it takes time for me to en affectionate agyer a fight “ and he’d leave me for days on end and be cold towards me . My last straw was he said I’ll never win his heart that’s when I know he’s trying to make me work and perform and chase and audition for his love . Blocked him for good
