I agree totally! I was looking for a compact camera with a good photo AND video quality. First I got the G7X but for that price it is NO. Then I got the TZ99 because of the hype here yes it is compact but the quality is really garbage. Now I have the canon V1. It is not as compact as the other ones but the quality is so good and way cheaper than the G7X. I think I'm gonna keep it 🙏🏻 I watched your video also and I remember that you liked it 😊

Idk my Lumix TZ99 is wonderful. If u understand the settings and know when to use different settings then the results turn out great. So happy with it especially for a price of a flip screen digital camera

same with the sx740hs… just because it looks slightly similar doesn’t mean it is a “g7x dupe”… it has 40x zoom by having a TINY sensor and worse lens

I looked at replacing my RX100 mk1 (which cost £479 duty free) with something with a longer zoom and it’s either rubbish with no viewfinder or crazy prices for mediocre performance. Even looked at new Sonys RX10 V but at £2.2k they can whistle.

yes, you're so right! and the market is sooo confusing! i ended up going with a used sony dsc-hx50v and it was such a good choice for my first "real" camera. yes, it's older. but it's enough camera for a beginner, and enough to learn on before putting much more out on a proper system camera. my point isn't to shill that model, but just to further your point of "deinfluencing" from trends amd thinking about what you really want out of a camera. i have absolutely tiny hands, so my next camera will probably be an a5100 so i can explore lenses and such, but that's for a future moment with better finances i'm afraid.
