@victor_awowo: The world knows the power of influence. That is why many who create certain kinds of entertainment are careful about what they allow their own children to consume. A video of Cardi B turning off her song when her daughter walked in sparked a question in my heart. When fans asked why, she reportedly said she did not want her daughter exposed to that kind of music. So here is my question. If it is not considered suitable for your own child, why should it be suitable for someone else’s? As Christians, we must stop calling darkness civilization and stop calling rebellion modernization. Not everything that is popular is profitable. Not everything that trends is truth. The world understands the power of influence and often protects its own. Yet many believers are embracing values, entertainment and lifestyles that slowly pull their hearts away from God. The Bible says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2). We are called to be light, not to adjust ourselves to darkness. Guard your heart. Guard your ears. Guard your children. Every form of influence is shaping someone, and not every influence leads to Christ. Darkness does not become light because it is popular.
