Assume dinner is spread over a 3-hour window. So at any given moment: ≈ 1 in 3 people are eating ≈ 2.5 million people ⸻ Now work out how many of those are eating pizza. If I had a bit more time, I’d look up: * the total number of restaurants in New York * the number of pizzerias I’d use that as a rough proxy for pizza’s share of dinner occasions. Without that data, I’ll keep it simple. Call it 5%. ≈ 2.5m × 5% = 125,000 pizza eaters ⸻ Now estimate how much pizza each person eats. Some people grab a couple of slices. Others might have half a pizza. Call it: ≈ 2.5 slices each ≈ 125,000 × 2.5 = ~300,000 slices ⸻ One thing I’d challenge is the 5%.
