(6/22/26) The North Carolina Department of Labor has fined an amusement company $37,500 after a rider was injured when a lap restraint came loose on a ride at the Carolina Beach boardwalk. The department issued a serious violation against Harlan Blast/Hildebrand Amusements following an incident on its Kamikaze ride, also known as “Surf’s Up.” A rider was injured when a lap restraint came loose while the ride was operating, according to the department’s investigation.
