There is no such thing as a black panther. They are leopards or Jaguars that are black. They do exist, jaguars have been filmed in the US

When I was little there was a black panther that was in the woods behind my house in Campbell County TN. Its scream was so scary at night.

The one I saw was in Sweetwater TN in 2024 in my neighbors yard, had big yellow eyes with round pupils, and it was black but it had leopard like spots in the black it was crazy . It was undersized but it was a black panther. 🤷‍♂️

Black panther is a jaguar or leopard with extra pigmentation. We don’t have jaguars. Maybe someone had an escaped ilegal smuggled black panther and they couldn’t alert authorities

Panthers were huge in the southern states above Mexico. They still have them kind of close to our borders. So they show up in like tx or new Mex sometimes. They aren’t gone completely, but they aren’t in high numbers by any means. They’re around, but have mostly been hunted out
