The Dilzak Tribe A Significant Karlani Pashtun Tribe The Dilzak are a Karlani Pashtun tribe, traditionally traced to Koday, and are regarded as brothers of the Orakzai tribe. They are also closely related, through the Burhan tribal group, to tribes such as the Afridi, Khattak, Utmankhel, and Zadran. The Dilzak may appear relatively small in population today, but in terms of Pashtun history, genealogy, and tribal structure, they hold considerable importance, with numerous sub-tribes descending from them. When the Yousafzai tribe migrated from Bajaur towards Malakand, they reached Sufaid Sang, where a jirga was held with the Dilzak. According to this historical tradition, the Yousafzai requested land, and the Dilzak granted them territory not that the Yousafzai simply took it by force. Later, conflict broke out between the two tribes. According to Akhund Darweza, the Yousafzai suffered a major defeat, with heavy losses, and were forced to seek refuge in the mountains of Shalman and Thataron. The Yousafzai once again sought reconciliation, and the Dilzak extended their generosity to them. The Yousafzai subsequently came to Dawaba, where they reorganized and gradually strengthened their position. Over time, their growing power brought major losses for the Dilzak, while the Yousafzai eventually consolidated their territory as far as Langarkot. The Khattak Dilzak relationship also has an interesting genealogical connection. Besides the broader Karlani relationship, a double connection emerged through the Seni Khattaks according to this tradition, the father of the Seni Khattaks was from the Dilzak tribe, while their mother belonged to the Bolaq branch of the Khattaks. This is a story of tribal genealogy, migration, alliances, conflict, generosity, and the shifting balance of power in Pashtun history. دلزاک arif ktk about utmankhel دلذاک arif ktk about mohmand دلاذاک History of dilzak tribe. #creatorsearchinsights Karlani tribes. #pashtoon #dilzak #History #khattak
