I was Christian and reverted to Islam. It is a thing that happens but in my personal experience its often fake. It's supposed to be a reaction to the holy spirit entering you and healing you of whatever you were being prayed over for. I had a pastor who would pray over us like this and only certain adults would fall every time but when children and teenagers went nothing would happen which was super suspicious. I went down to be prayed for and could feel him actively trying to push me to fall backwards and had to brace myself to stop from falling back. He eventually got tired I think and moved on to the next person. After the session ended the group of us all went to our seats and laughed because we all felt him pushing us but neither of us fell.

Hey - Christian here. We are told in the Bible that we are given the authority to cast demons out in the name of Jesus/his name holds authority against evil. HOWEVER…3/4 of these are definitely staged. It doesn’t happen like this. Now i’m Orthodox and this is clearly Protestant but regardless, scripture doesn’t describe what it looks like. But in the Bible, the casting of demons from people was quiet. It was never a big spectacle
