@niya_kingkhari: Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey doesn't even try to be an accurate Portrayal of Greek mythology. #TheOdyssey #ChristopherNolan #HomersOdyssey #Filmtok #GreekMythology
It's not a brilliant adaption, but it's a brilliant film

I don’t even feel it is inaccurate tho, of course things are missing but they are more implied, and the changes that are work

Literally why does it have to be an accurate portrayal of the characters? I mean, its clearly the story of the Odyssey for a start, so ppl arguing its not deserving of the name is silly. Other than that. why are things being different, making it a terrible adaptation

It's also a terrible movie for anyone who doesn't like cultural appropriation.

He took out all the gods Interactions and made everything about human action & guilt. It’d be like if he adapted Moses’ story and the burning bush didn’t happen & Moses only goes to save his people from Egypt based on guilt. Calling it The Odyssey when it simply isn't, That's poor.

People need to stop taking this shit seriously… for fuck’s sake it’s cinema, you know make believe…. If this film can get more people hooked on Greek mythology and ancient writings the better…. So what if one of the characters is portrayed as black or mixed race get over your fucking self for fuck’s sake and get a life.
