thats why i always preferred a spiral bound notebook with none of the pages ripped out for notetaking. the cushion made my pen lines far more consistent and made my handwriting more legible. this could totally be something for me to look at later

i thrifted a foldable table that has leather lining the tops of it, i love to draw and write on it for this reason. it definitely helps giving more depth and control to strokes and trying to shade evenly is so much easier
