They spent the entire season trying to frame it as this evil thing. First it was "homophobic" because the episodes weren't back to back shipping material. Then it was "Pro-Police" because of the scene where Lestat mocks a cop. Then it was "racist" because a southern black woman from the early 1900s called her abusive father "nappy headed." Just a bunch of whiny, exploitative, hypocritical reactionaries grasping at charged language to try and legitimize their petty grievances with the lack of ship bait and the change in narration. I cannot stand social media, and I fully admit to getting a kick out of this being one of the highest rated seasons.

alot of these comments and hate come from people already having this weird parasocial hatred towards lestat and him being white. the amount of people I have seen being disgusting JUST cause lestat is a light skinned male main character and has been a lot of hate since. Why would the narrator change and it be the same time period and way Louis told his story? Also, As a POC I am getting sick and tired of people throwing around constantly racism,racist,calling people racist for any and everything if it's something THEY don't like or the way it's protrayed. Let alone talking over Jacob,Delainey, etc

Talking about Louis being “dogpiled on” & “being punished” when Louis treated Lestat & Armand like villains throughout seasons 1/2. I guess, IN-CHARACTER, retaliation is not fair to Louis & bad writing. Meanwhile, Lestat is going through it every episode & in the finale, he was literally going to die before the Talamasca stepped in. Louis, at least, got a chance to survive.

I think they expected Lestat’s season to be like Louis’. Albeit naively, but they did none-the-less. It’s also hard to grasp the story of an erratic, traumatized, emotional vampire when you’re only half-paying attention. (Anywho loved the season! Cannot wait to see the aftermath)
