Souls games especially fromsoft ones have it so where certain moves can only be used when you’re a certain distance away and then they chain into a different attack depending on where you are and what you’re doing so you only ever see about 60% of the moves

This happened to my friend and I when playing ds3, my friend was helping me with the story and we were about midway through the game, the next boss we had to fight was the giant tree with legs(forgot his name), he said the boss isn’t very mobile and only fights while sitting down, tell me why the boss got up and started walking around the arena curb stomping us😭
