Before sleeping, you can recite the following authentic du’as: 1. Bismika Allahumma amūtu wa aḥyā. Arabic: بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا Meaning: “In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live.” (Sahih al-Bukhari) 2. Ayat al-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255) Reciting it before sleeping brings Allah’s protection throughout the night, by Allah’s permission. 3. Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas Recite each three times, then blow lightly into your palms and wipe them over your body as much as you can. This was the practice of the Prophet ﷺ. 4. The beautiful bedtime du’a: Arabic: اللَّهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ أَحْيَا وَأَمُوتُ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ، وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ، وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ، رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ، لَا مَلْجَأَ وَلَا مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلَّا إِلَيْكَ. آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ، وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ. Meaning: “O Allah, I submit myself to You, entrust my affairs to You, turn my face to You, and rely on You in hope and fear of You. There is no refuge or escape from You except with You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent.” (Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim) May Allah protect you through the night, forgive your sins, grant you peaceful sleep, and wake you up in good health and strong faith.
