You scrolled through the comments and realised that 80% haven’t read the book. Wow it’s a classic and an amazing masterpiece. Portraits very well the time and society back then. Also Rochester do not remain blind forever.

I was so happy when Jane developed relationships with other women like the teacher at the school and then the housekeeper. She was finally cared for and then this happens.

It’s a painful read if you’ve read Wide Sargasso Sea first. At least in Wuthering Heights, Healthcliff isn’t chained up, for those of you thinking Jane Eyre is better 😵💫

For anyone who doesn’t know, Mr Rochester was fooled by Bertha Mason’s family and they hid the fact that she was ill and forcefully married her to him. It wasn’t Mr. Rochester fault, it was them adults who ruined it, stealing his youth and happiness.
