I had a sub who came back at least twice a month to sub for 8th grade classes only I was in a lot of the classes she subbed for she always called me amelia, my name is amelia but my preferred name is AJ, or jae, and I wouldn't be upset because it's a nickname and she's a sub no biggie but she called every other student by the nickname they have as long as she know the nickname, so eventually I went up to the teachers desk after class and asked why she never used my nicknames because she called everyone else but their nicknames, her reason was in her exact words "AJ or jae are boy names, your a girl"

I had a teacher who would call me Zoe because she didn't like my name and when I didn't respond, she'd give me detention. She would also fail me on assignments if I wrote my name instead of Zoe. She was fired 😂

I had a teacher who insisted for half the year that my name was Bethany, wrote on a test that put the wrong name and everything. She did eventually apologise to me, and ended up being one of my favorite teachers. But to this day will literally answer to any name except Bethany. Fun story though is that I read a lot and all the booksellers at my local B&N know, one of them does know my name when he sees me but he told me one that he struggled with for a bit because he kept wanted to call me wrong name, I asked what name he wanted to me call because I had a feeling, and it was freaking Bethany which caused my husband to breakdown laughing.

My name is Priscilla and teachers ALWAYS get my name wrong (because it's not a commun name where I'm from) so when i was a senior i had this teacher who took the effort to spell and say my name right and made me feel that my name isn't a burden. I'll always remember her🤍🤍

I had a teacher call me raya for a year, my name is rae, I would correct her, she would apologize and then would do it again the next day to the point I gave up on trying to correct her, then the next year, she actually sat down with me, apologized and started calling me my correct name, she was the best art teacher I ever had😋

I had a teacher who'd mess up my name no matter how many times I or my classmates would correct him. I eventually stopped responding and got in trouble. The principle gave him an ear full for calling me by my brother's name and not my own.
