@therajrpatel: Atorvastatin Muscle Pain, Fatigue, Brain Fog And Statin Side Effects Explained A patient once said to me: “My cholesterol numbers are much better… but why do I feel worse?” That question matters. Atorvastatin is one of the most commonly prescribed medicines for lowering cholesterol and reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes. For millions of people, it is an effective medicine that helps prevent serious cardiovascular disease. But some people notice changes after starting it. Possible side effects can include: • muscle aches • aching or heavy legs • muscle weakness • fatigue • low energy • brain fog • memory concerns • digestive upset • feeling flatter than usual • generally not feeling like yourself This does not automatically mean atorvastatin is causing your symptoms. Many people take it without experiencing significant side effects. However, if symptoms begin after starting treatment, they deserve a proper medication review. The goal isn’t simply to lower your cholesterol. The goal is to reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke while helping you feel as well as possible. If you’ve developed muscle pain, aching legs, unusual tiredness or you’re wondering whether atorvastatin is causing brain fog or memory problems, don’t ignore it—but don’t stop taking it without medical advice. A medication review can help answer important questions such as: • Could my symptoms be related to atorvastatin? • Do I need blood tests, including CK if appropriate? • Is my current dose still the right one? • Would another statin suit me better? • Could another medicine be contributing? • Could there be another explanation such as vitamin D deficiency, thyroid disease, anaemia or vitamin B12 deficiency? • What is my individual risk of heart attack or stroke if treatment changes? Seek urgent medical advice if you develop: • severe muscle pain • profound muscle weakness • dark urine • yellowing of the skin or eyes • severe unexplained tiredness or you feel very unwell People often ask: Can atorvastatin cause muscle pain? Why do my legs ache after starting atorvastatin? Can atorvastatin cause fatigue? Does atorvastatin cause brain fog or memory problems? Should I stop atorvastatin because of side effects? Could another statin suit me better? Most people benefit from atorvastatin and never experience serious problems. But if you feel different after starting it, don’t suffer in silence. A conversation with your GP or pharmacist could make all the difference. #atorvastatin #statins #cholesterol #musclepain #pharmacistsoftiktok

Pharmacist Health Raj :
Do you take atorvastatin?
Has it improved your cholesterol while leaving you with muscle aches, tiredness, brain fog or something completely different?
I’d really like to hear your experience below. 💚
