Ruvelle Sherman Jones :
Shabbat Shalom Brother, for a long time, one thing has been settled in my mind: there are mysteries that are far above my ability to fully understand. The question of Yeshua and His Father, Yahweh, is one of those mysteries.
Everything you have shared with me makes perfect sense......
But I still find myself thinking that they are actually separate, at least in the sense of what we see in the Gospels. Yeshua referred to His Father numerous times. He prayed to His Father. He spoke to Him, not as Him.
I keep coming back to verses that use words like 'with' and 'and'—they seem to point me toward distinction. John 1:1 says, 'The Word was with God, and the Word was God.' That word 'with' tells me there was relationship, not sameness.
And I know He said, 'I and My Father are one.' But how do I reconcile that with everything else? Throughout His entire ministry, He kept talking about doing His Father's commands, listening, obeying, submitting. That makes me think there are two.
Why else would He cry out, 'My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?' in the most painful moment of His life? If they were the same, who was He calling out to?
And why does Revelation speak of the Father and the Lamb as distinct? Why do we hear over and over that He 'sits at the right hand of the Father'? That is a position next to, not absorbed into.
So I am thinking. I am listening. I am not arguing. I am just telling you, this is where I stand on these issues.
This particular matter, this mystery, is not so easily explained. Because I am sure I could bring you ten verses that clearly show the Father and the Son are two.
