Don’t rush his emotions. Don’t silence them. Because a boy who is not allowed to feel… grows into a man who struggles to love deeply. 3. Hug him a little longer. Even when he starts acting “grown.” He may not ask for it… but he still needs it. 4. Teach him how to be calm within himself. Before the world teaches him how to escape himself. Because when a boy doesn’t know peace… he will go searching for it in the wrong places. 5. Apologise when you’re wrong. You are not just raising him… you are modelling what safe love looks like. 6. Speak to him with respect. The way you speak to him today… becomes the voice he carries within himself tomorrow. 7. Let him talk. Not to correct him every time… but to understand him. Sometimes what he needs most… is to feel heard. 8. Teach him boundaries early. So he learns the difference between being wanted… and being valued. 9. Tell him you are proud of him. Not only for what he does… but for who he is becoming. 10. Make home feel safe. Not just physically… but emotionally. Because a boy who feels safe at home… does not grow up searching for healing in places that cannot give it. You don’t lose your son in one moment. You lose him slowly… in the little messages he receives: “Don’t cry.” “Be strong.” “Handle it alone.” And over time… he learns to carry everything by himself. This is the work.
