This is how I saved for my house. I used a high yield savings account and transferred the night before my check hit.

Transfer it to a Roth IRA, not a savings account. Max out your Roth every year from 20 until retirement and youll have less than $300k invested but your account will be over 4 million (assuming an annualized 10% rate of return in the SP500) “saving” your money will lose money YOY due to inflation.
