This is a completely normal side effect of a hair transplant. 😳 Post-operative facial swelling, especially around the eyes and forehead, is actually one of the most common effects after a hair transplant, particularly when work is done along the frontal hairline. During the procedure, fluid from local anesthesia and the surgical process accumulates in the scalp, and over the next few days, gravity pulls that fluid downward into the loose tissue around the eyes, which is why the swelling often looks worse days after surgery rather than immediately following it. This typically peaks around day 2 to 4 post-op and usually resolves completely within about a week. It's not dangerous and doesn't affect the actual transplant results, it's simply fluid migration through soft tissue. Doctors often recommend cold compresses, keeping the head elevated even while sleeping, and sometimes a short course of steroids to help minimize it.
